Dear New GYLI Students,

Hi, and thanks for coming to our site!! We are excited to tell you about our amazing three year journey. We hope you will take a look around the site as you prepare to begin the GYLI journey aboard the Denis Sullivan or Lettie G. Howard.

GYLI is a leadership, diversity, and adventure program that seriously takes on social justice and social change. Throughout our three-year program, you will engage in fun, experiential, hands-on and transformative institutes each summer. All participants are immersed in dialogue and exercises exploring pluralism based on religion, class, gender, age, cultural background, sexual orientation, and ability. You and the other GYLI students will return your schools with fresh ideas embodied in your original Leader Learning Plans (LLPs).

We want to take care to equip you for your GYLI journey in the best way possible. You will be getting lots of information from us and from your GYLI faculty sponsor, so please read everything, and make sure it is all clear. There will be a faculty training conducted in April of 2007 where all new GYLI faculty will have a chance to gain crucial understanding of the GYLI mission, vision, and specific practices.

I think that if you look around you will not find a more ambitious, economical, and rewarding program for students and schools. I am very excited about our 2007 summer institutes, and I am eager to work with your school as our program grows and solidifies. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any further information.

Please fill out the info below to begin the application process, and then follow the links on the left. Welcome Aboard!!

~Matt Nink and the GYLI Crew
