Sengyeon was born in South Korea, but has lived in the US for most of her life and considers Milwaukee, Wisconsin her home. She is a recent graduate of the University of Chicago, where she majored in Comparative Human Development and minored in Spanish. Currently she lives Sacramento, California, working as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Communities and Health Professionals Together. She connects future physicians with organizations in the community to further their understanding of the social determinants of health. She is passionate about healthcare and hopes to go to graduate school to study public health in the future.
