David Tisel

David_Tisel_ProfileA 2008 Alum, David Tisel has managed to stay involved with GYLI as an intern, a coordinator, and now as a member of the 20-30 Council. After interning for two summers, in 2011 he coordinated the American Youth Leadership Program, a month-long institute in Costa Rica and Panama for students in Chicago and Southern Wisconsin, funded by a State Department leadership development grant.

David just graduated from Oberlin College (2013) with a double major in Politics and Economics. His studies focused on the politics and economics of labor, and he wrote an honors thesis on U.S. prison labor and its historical-institutional roots in African American slavery, sharecropping, and convict leasing. He hopes to get involved in politics and government in Minnesota.
