Year 3 Costa Rica Day 10–Back to UWC and Back to

July 24, 2015: Today began with our final breakfast at EARTH University, followed by a quick visit to the bookstore for some students.  Then we returned to UWC in Costa Rica’s central valley.  We got to travel again through the beautiful Braulio Carrillo National Park.  The road takes over many rivers and through beautiful mountain passes.

When we returned to UWC Costa Rica, students met in school groups to prepare their Leader Learning Plan (LLP) Presentations.  The LLP is one of the key features that separates GYLI from other programs, as it gives student the opportunity to work for school and community change.  The LLPs from this group are ambitions, interesting, practical and if they can come close to their goals, they will have achieved much.  Some of the projects plan to focus on environmental sustainability, some on multiculturalism, and some on more ways to make the school community more inclusive.   All of the teachers and coordinators were impressed with the many great projects that were developed and presented.    Here are a couple more photos from yesterday and today.
